Joint tape + happy birthday = fun card

If you're here for the Paper Girls Blog Hop, head this way

A few weeks back I was in a mixed media class at my LSS and we used joint tape (like the stuff for drywall) as a mask, come to find out it is also self-adhesive, so when the teacher offered some extras to me I snatched it right up.

As soon as I saw the sketch for this month's card at Practical Scrappers I knew what I wanted to use it!

Now how fun is that?!? AND because of the colors I used I managed to knock out another male/neutral card to add to my stash. Sah-wheet!

To make this card even better, I only used scraps to make the card face. I do love a challenge, and digging through the scraps to make "scrap only" projects is certainly one of my favorites!

  1. Such a great man card! We took a Little Black Dress (long gone paper crafting supplier) class 5 years ago or so. You'd have loved her- inky, messy, layering goodness. She used a host of Home Depot supplies to create masks and unique embellies!

    1. I only know about this one because of a class I took, well, and dollar store sandpaper. What else did they use? I'm always little afraid to attach those things to a layout but would be all over ideas for masking or to use them on cards.
