March Card Club

Here's my first attempt at a pop-up card. We'll be playing with the technique at the Soul Sentiments card club in March. Don't you just love how I used these pastel Christmas papers to make a spring card?! Sadly, the papers are at the store now and I don't remember which line they're from but the embellishment bits are from Authentique Blissful.

Far and Away mini album

At a crop a few weeks ago I set to work making this little mini album using Teresa Collins Far and Away, you might remember the layout I shared the other day made from the scraps from this project. Lots of photos and close-ups on this one, and in addition to the Far and Away there's some Glitz Design Happy Travels stickers, Recollections metal embellishments, and I used my new Amy Tangerine stitching template.

A little cover close-up

Here's that first page, headed to Utah

Left side flap

Right side slider

My next page, getting ready for a fun weekend

Peek-a-boo, I really love adding flaps to my mini books since they allow you to add so many extra pictures!

Photos with some of the girls and my adventure to the Tabernacle Choir's Sunday Recording.

Left side flap, clearly I still need to do some journaling.

Right side flap

The last pages, saying good-bye.

And the back cover, plain and simple

Today, tomorrow, forever

I was quite inspired by Melodee's sketch challenge for this week's ScrapbookSteals MWM - Rose 1. The sketch was simple and open ended, but I loved that she'd made a layout for her niece's wedding photos and decided to pull out some of my own.

I'm also linking this to the My Mind's Eye February Challenge - to use their products for a love themed project.

I used a variety of MME papers - Lost and Found 2, All is Bright, and Follow Your Heart. There's also embellishments from Find Your Wings and Fly, Follow Your Heart, Chalk Studio, and All is Bright.

The wood veneers are Studio Calico, and the lace is Graphic 45 Staples.

The rub-on hearts are from the Pink Paislee Luxe collection.

Hello Card

Just a fun little card I made by coloring a piece of PinkPaislee resist paper with pink Faber Castell Gelatoes and embellishing with scraps and a My Mind's Eye flourish.

Ten Things Eyelets and Brads at Practical Scrappers

I use a lot of eyelets to bind my mini albums, but don't often try to think about using them outside the box and loved that this month's Practical Scrappers Ten Things is all about Brads and Eyelets. You'll notice that this one is photo-free, that's because it is a gift. Good thing she doesn't read my blog because she's gonna love the bright colors of this Hazel and Ruby Chalk It Up paper!

Can I just say that remembering to keep the orientation correct for this one was rough. I kept designing pages upside down.

And a close up of the interactive flaps.

And a bit of a close up on that fun eyelet speech bubble embellishment  and the interactive flaps.

Look! More flaps.

And finally, the back cover.

Iolite 2

Mom and I do a lot of stash sharing, when I was at her house recently she sent products home with me to sell at an upcoming stash sale and I'll bring something new and fun the next time I visit. It works well for us. Well, I was working on MWM Iolite 2 and had decided on these pink and purple toned scraps but very much needed some depth to the page, I looked down and saw these frames and epoxy dots. Love happened.

I think my favorite thing about the epoxy dots is that while a teeny bit larger than most enamel dots they have that same sort of "look" and I used quite a few. Guess I'll have to find her something really cool now...

The background paper is Webster's Pages Trendsetter, other papers include Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye, and Crate Paper. The epoxy dots were from Prima Azure and I have no idea who made those frames.

Iolite 9

I helped as a vendor at a local crop recently and while there I did a little paper playing in my free time. In a few days I'll post the mini album I made with this Teresa Collins Far and Away line, but for now you get to see how I used the scraps.

The layout is based on the ScrapbookSteals Iolite 9 MWM sketch and is actually about part of my adventure to the Steals Retreat last fall. I was busy painting my toe nails in preparation for my trip and Rylan insisted in joining me with some green polish. When I was done Vance wanted his done too. And I made them stand still for a picture of our tootsies.

In addition to Far and Away papers and embellies I used some stickers from Glitz Design's Happy Travels.

Iolite 10

A couple of days ago I posted my Scrapbooksteals MWM Iolite series round up but didn't go into any sort of details about the layouts that hadn't already shown up on the blog. This layout was for Iolite 10

I made it using some Moxxie Musically Inclined papers that my LSS was wanting to push out of the store. LOVE getting to kill two birds with one layout. I'm hoping that the more vintage styling of the layout helps break people out of dismissing these papers as simply "music paper."

Naturally, I went to town with fussy cutting and thought it would be fun to "shadow" the flourishes a bit with some sketching. It really popped them from the page.

Awww, and nothing like using some oldie but goodie Thickers, you can almost see the strips of MME stickered gems from the Miss Caroline collection. Both were such perfect colors for this layout!

My first attempt at pocket pages

A few months back I bought some Project Life cards at my LSS' stash sale and finally got around to testing them out while at a crop. I'm not so sold on it as my style, I definitely won't be going to PL as a regular thing BUT I love the idea of using it for those events where you have tons of pictures and couldn't possibly scrap them all.

I'm thinking I should go back and add some fun embellies now that I'm home.

Scrapbooksteals Iolite Round Up

I've been playing along with the ScrapbookSteals MWM Iolite weekly series, and now we're at the end. Each week there's a challenge and opportunity for a prize, at the end of a 10 week series there's a chance at a bigger prize if you've completed all the layouts. So while I didn't do them all on time for the weekly prizes, I'm posting them all in this round up post to enter that contest.
