Pattern Play Card Class

When my bloggy friend Andie, at Contagiously Crafty, posted that she was taking this class I almost dismissed it. Then I looked at my piles of scraps and thought about how much I hate trying to use them. I'm not always confident about making mismatched pieces "work." And that revelation caused me to sign up, and after one class I'm glad I did!

You see, I like patterns so much that I rarely use solid cardstock but I want to get out of the habit of only using paper from the same lines.

This card was made using the same sketch that one of the online instructors used for an example card. Love the sketch!

Papers are from Echo Park For The Record and BasicGrey Origins. The stamp is Amy Tangerine Sketchbook. Inked using Ranger Distress Peeled Paint. Heat embossed with American Crafts Metallic Zing! Twine is from WRMK.

    1. I didn't use to be a card girl, and then I simultaneously realized that I was amassing scraps faster than I could use them on pages AND discovered Operation Write Home. So now I have a purpose to make tons of cards for, instead of just waiting until the next birthday or thank you is needed.

  2. I rarely use all the same paper line on a layout. I should start because it makes it easier to list the supplies I use, but when I sit to create and pull out a paper line I'm gonna use, I always dig through my scraps and pull out all the pieces that would totally go even if they are a different company to stretch it out. :)

    1. I got into the habit of using lines when I started following sketch blogs. As a newb I realized I'd get better looking results. Now it's time to grow up and learn how to pick my own clothes, at least sometimes. ;)

  4. Yay! What a beautiful card. Isn't the class off to a wonderful start? I made a post today from a card made before the class, but I find that it really fits with some of the tips. This was encouraging to me.

I hope you are enjoying the class. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
