Patterned Play Day 2

So normally when I read about a new (to me) technique I sort of file it away and may never pull it out again, but today's class at Online Card Creations had two things that I just loved!

1. Jennifer had a whole segment on making your own resist papers with clear embossing powder. During which I called her a genius and myself a fool. It's so brilliantly simple.

2. To take away the shine after heat embossing, put it between pieces of paper and with a medium warm iron, iron that sucker.

This was a life craft changing sort of day!

  1. Oh my word! This card is adorable. I agree with you on the craft changing sort of day. Tim Holtz did something similar in his Creative Chemistry 101 class, but Jennifer used it in making a card (instead of the tag example that Tim did) and it was like a whole new concept for me. Having said that you'll notice no posts for Day 2 from me- four experiments went south and ended up in a pile on my table. I think I don't have a bold enough stamp to make this work properly. I am thinking of ways to overcome my supply shortcoming though and will definitely post if I succeed.

Glad you're enjoying the class. I'm glad for the challenge to my comfort zone.

    1. I had a couple of southward experiments this day too because of the size of stamp issue - in fact one of them already got repurposed onto the layout I posted Day 3. The other is in the planning stages of being transformed for Day 4's card.

I'm glad they didn't work out, because this stamp was the whole reason I bought all those other Unity Stamps I've been using. Buy $$ and get this one free suckered me in and I *needed* this one before Christmas and I just now used it!
