Beautiful Place Canvas

Remember how I've talked about how into mixed media techniques my local scrapbook store is? Well, I tried my hand at another canvas for them. The only things Dala asked me to use were some Bo Bunny embellishments and the new(ish) Mod Podge molds, the rest was up to me.

There's lots of tissue and modeling paste. I don't know what those gem things are but I got them for super cheap when Archivers was going out of business.

Here you can read the sentiment a little better, it's from a Donna Downey Unity Stamp. And check out that little pink frame! That's one of those Mod Podge molded shapes, I just painted over it.

The creamy colored border here is another of the Mod Podge shapes in the original color. I love that the texture is so rich with these things! If you have no idea what I'm talking about - Mod Podge released a series of silicon molds that you use with their special glue sticks. You use a high temp glue gun and squeeze the glue into the mold. I've read about people using regular glue sticks with so so success (I'd definitely want to paint them if I did that!). This was my first time using them though so I didn't play around at that level, plus the molds were ones I'd borrowed from the store. Now that I have my own...

Pearl 4

These Scrapbooksteals MWM Pearl pages are a little behind, but since I made them over a weekend at my mom's I thought I'd share them here.

The first is of Squishy running below the Space Needle. He's such a cutie! And I love how the page just flew together, such a simple, pretty sketch.

Target Printed Tape
MME Decorative Tape
Michael's $1 bin gems
Pebbles Chalks
Ranger Distress Ink, walnut stain
Creating this page took a bit longer - there's a lot of Cameo cutting here. The Starfish border is the same cut as I used on the other Aquarium page, I just changed it from being a corner border to being straight. I also cut an Echo Park journaling box and the starfish with flourish on the Cameo.

My favorite thing about this one is that I managed to hide the "nemo" part of the title in a Bo Bunny Wrap that sort of gives an algae feel.

MME ric rac ribbon (Lush?)
American Crafts Thickers
Pink Paislee wood veneer letters
Bo Bunny Wrap
Ranger Distress Ink, broken china

Mojo - the midweek kind

After spending the last two weeks working almost exclusively on a project for the Scrapbooksteals retreat in October I have to say that it's nice to get back to my normal creative grind. Variety is nice.

This is Pearl 5 from a sketch by Kristy Lee. I love when her sketches just sort of click with my resources/me.

Such a fast page to do! The washi in the top corner really helped with that, but even without it I spent more time cutting out the maze circles and the space port sign with my Cameo than I did actually assembling the page!

Papers and diecuts are 3 Bugs in a Rug Blast Off, Target Washi Tape, American Crafts Accordion Flowers and Thickers, Bo Bunny Wraps, MME Lush 2 Orange gems, Pebbles Chalks, stash brads and black and shiny paper used for Silhouette Cameo shapes, Studio G Glitter Glue, Crackle Accents.

MWM Pearl 3

Wow! I can't believe that I managed to crank out a Mid-Week Mojo on the day it was posted. Awesome-sauce. Today's MWM featured a sketch from the lovely Kristy Lee using Kiwi Lane Templates. Now I sort of own some, they live at my mom's, I use them there and she uses them when I'm not. So to work on the page *today* I had to improvise, because if you've never seen them they're pretty cool. Basically, they're a border stencil and the next best thing to tracing and cutting is to use a kit that has die cut borders in it! Right?!  Or pull out your die cutting machine, but I chose option "A" because I was lazy.

3 Bugs in a Rug Blast Off papers and die cuts
3 Bugs in a Rug Chaos and Confusion Chipboard alphas
Bo Bunny Wraps ribbon
Color Box Chalk Ink, Olive
Green brads, stash
So this is it. My first time using papers from 3 Bugs in a Rug. I'm stinkin' in love with this kit. Blast Off is so much fun. My favorite thing in the whole kit is the little sticker on the bottom left page that says you make my whole face smile, or something to that end.
