Paper Girls Challenge - Travel

Here I am with my second Guest Designer post for The Paper Girls Challenge Blog - this one's all about vacation/travel. This challenge came to me at a perfect time! I'd just won Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride from Scrapbooksteals and was excited about an excuse to play around with it.

We make travel routine around these parts since the grandparents live a mere 2 hour drive away! I took this photo on one of the rarer trips because David came along with us, putting me in a position to take this pic of His Royal Cuteness, Vance.

I started with the background layers of patterned papers and then chose the splatter to complement those colors. After inking up the layers I glued parts of them together and rolled one corner, tucking cut outs from the kit around it. Then I added some of the Blackboard (think black chipboard) and die cut papers that came with it and random brads and paper clips from my stash.

The title alphas are from October Afternoon and Girls' Paperie. Journaling and doodling was done with American Crafts Galaxy Markers.

If you've never played along with the Paper Girl's Challenge Blog, you should know that they are a twice monthly challenge blog. Challenges go live on Mondays, and they've done everything from sketches to techniques to products. It's been a lot of fun, you should check them out.

  3. Such a cute layout. I think it's the background paper that sets the tone and draws the eye. Nice job!
